Adai Tefera

Graduate student researcher, Doctoral candidate in Urban Schooling

Adai Tefera is a Doctoral Candidate in the Urban Schooling Division at UCLA’s School of Education. She received her Masters Degree from UCLA’s School of Public Affairs with a concentration in Educational and International policy. She also received her undergraduate degree in Political Science with an emphasis in Ethnic Studies from Santa Clara University. Her research interests focus on understanding the impact of the California High School Exit Exam on African American and Latino Students with “dis"Abilities. Her work at the Civil Rights Project consists of monitoring school districts and providing them with resources that promote integration, given the 2007 Supreme Court decision, Parents Involved in Community Schools v. Seattle School District. She is also helping to create a new Suburban Manual to build a more comprehensive dialogue with districts across the country.
