Jonathan Gillespie

Jonathan Gillespie is a Ph.D. student in the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies department at UCLA. He is very excited to be involved with the timely work that goes on at the Civil Rights Project, and currently assists with data management and statistics on the school discipline project. Jonathan has been a school social worker in Oakland and LA Unified School Districts at the middle school level for several years before and during his studies at UCLA. His current interests include mental health in schools, research on risk and resiliency, and mulling over the elusive connection between research and practice. He received his M.S.W. from UC Berkeley's School of Social Welfare and his B.A. in Sociology from UCLA.
