Kfir Mordechay is associate professor of Educational Leadership and Policy at Pepperdine University. His scholarship examines the complex interplay of social, demographic, and spatial factors that drive racial and economic inequalities. His current work, supported by the Spencer Foundation, investigates the dynamics of residential and school segregation in California’s gentrifying neighborhoods. Dr. Mordechay’s research has been published in leading academic journals, including Educational Policy, The American Journal of Education, Urban Education, and Teachers College Record. His work has been featured and cited in the New York Times, Washington Post, and NPR among others. He received his Ph.D. in Education from The University of California, Los Angeles.
