Dear Colleague,
We invite you to join us at an upcoming binational education symposium, “Teaching the Students We Share – In a New Era,” on November 9, 2024, from 9:00am to 4:30pm. The symposium will be held at the Grand Hotel in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.
Millions of transnational children and youth in the US and Mexico move between education systems. They come from approximately 80 different nationalities, though most are Spanish speakers. Their numbers increase every year. Quality education is the single most important factor in the well-being of these students. Both pre-service and in-service teachers need preparation and support to understand how to meet the needs and value the strengths of the students we share. Education quality is the combined responsibility of school leaders, teacher educators, teachers, policymakers, and researchers.
This conference will bring together stakeholders to better support educators, at all levels, and their transnational mobile students.
We look forward to seeing you at the symposium this November.

Estimado Colega,
Lo invitamos a participar en el próximo simposio binacional sobre educación, “Atender a los alumnos que compartimos: en una nueva era,” el 9 de noviembre de 2024, de 9:00 a 16:30 horas. El simposio se llevará a cabo en el Grand Hotel en Tijuana, Baja California, México.
Millones de niños y jóvenes transnacionales en Estados Unidos y México se mueven entre ambos sistemas educativos y su número aumenta cada año. En esta movilidad participan aproximadamente 80 nacionalidades diferentes, aunque la mayoría son hispanohablantes. La educación de calidad es el factor más importante para lograr el bienestar de estos alumnos. Tanto los maestros en formación como los docentes en servicio necesitan preparación y apoyo para comprender cómo satisfacer las necesidades y valorar las fortalezas de los alumnos que compartimos. La calidad de la educación es responsabilidad tanto de las autoridades escolares, como de los formadores de docentes, los maestros, los encargados de formular políticas y los académicos.
Este simposio reunirá a todos aquellos que están interesadas en apoyar mejor a los educadores de todos los niveles, y a sus alumnos transnacionales.
