Jongyeon Ee (Joy)





























Dr. Jongyeon (Joy) Ee is an assistant professor in the School of Education at Loyola Marymount University (LMU). Prior to joining LMU, she was a postdoctoral scholar at the UCLA Civil Rights Project/Proyecto Derechos Civiles. As a post-doc she was responsible for data analysis on multiple research studies released by the UCLA CRP. Her research is concerned with developing policies that promote equitable educational opportunities for emergent bilingual students and immigrant students. Her research also explores varying patterns and trends of school segregation in different contexts. She was involved in several studies regarding bilingual education and bilingualism, including economic advantages of bilingual abilities and parents’ thoughts and attitudes towards dual language programs. 
 
She received her Ph.D. in Education from UCLA and an MA degree in the Teaching of English as a Second Language at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
