Paul Martinez, PhD
Research Associate
Paul Martinez is a research associate at The Center for Civil Rights Remedies at the UCLA Civil Rights Project. Paul’s role focuses on understanding and providing solutions to disparities in school discipline, achievement, and graduation rates at the district, state, and national levels. He is enthusiastic and prepared to collaborate with educators, advocates and policymakers across the nation, and assist with strategy development for policy change work. Prior to his appointment, Paul was a research associate for the Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) and the Los Angeles Education Research Institute (LAERI) at UCLA. His dissertation research uses both quantitative and social network analysis methods to examine race/ethnicity, gender, class inequities in K-12 and Higher Education settings.
Paul is a Ph.D. Candidate in Sociology at UCLA. In addition, he holds a B.A. in Sociology from Sonoma State University and an M.A. in Sociology from UCLA.
